as a pastor, my support for question 6 is rooted in my belief that the government should treat everyone equally. i would not want someone denying my rights based upon their religious views, therefore i should not deny others based upon mine. it's about fairness. this law does not force any church to perform a same sex marriage if it's against their beliefs. and that's what this is about. protecting religious freedom and protecting all marylanders equally under the law. join me in voting for question 6.

and you see this morning balloons and tribute to the family and we're joined by sherrie johnson. and that tribute that we see in the community last night. >> a different scene than was out there. and as you saw there is a makeshift memorial out there. >> and remembering the fire victims it marks the spot in baltimore a day after that early morning fire killed a grandmother and grandchildren. last night a vigil was held in front of the home. classmates and teachers and on the sidewalk on denwood. and mothers and children comforting children. the community is supporting one another through this difficult time. they don't know what caused the fire it started yesterday at 2:00. several people were inside the home and managed to escape but five did not make it out. the community is devastated by the loss. >> as a mother, i hugged her,

she lost a child. and i lost a child. if you never lost a child. you don't know the emptiness and i wanted to hold her to let her know i'm hear and that everyone was here for her. >> and now the fire investigators say there were smoke detectors in the home but they're not sure if they were working at the time of the fire. sherrie johnson. a killer on the loose a week after murdering a teenaged girl. family and friends are remembering the 16-year-old. now they're holding a vigil starting at 6:00 at the corner of bond and eager street. and police say they have little evidence right now but they do with the law. teen had multiple and in november, you will decide whether to legalize same- sex marriage in maryland. now one of the oldest civil rights groups wants you to know they are supporting the cause. and the president of the naacp

will endorse the legalization of same-sex marriage. and there will be support for question six t fort worth it passes, maryland will be the first state to legalize same- sex marriage by a popular vote. this morning's health alert. there are 13 cases of meningitis here and one death. and the infection has killed 14 people across the country and according to the cdc the infections started after a tainted batch of steroid stops. and there has been a lawsuit filed in the case. and hit the ground running. thousands are coming out now for the running festival. it kicks off tomorrow. for a preview and we're joined by linda so. she is at the finish line at the stadium. we say thousands, linda. this is a record setting number of thousands, isn't it. >> a record 27,000 runners in the race tomorrow.
